The short version
Everything you post lives under Roles in your sidebar. Click Submit a role and you'll fill in two tabs: Job Post (what candidates see) and Apply Form (what they fill in). Preview it, publish, and you're live. You can close the tab whenever, because your draft saves automatically.
Step by step
- Open Roles and start a draft. Click Roles in the sidebar, then Submit a role in the top right. Want a head start? Pick one of your past roles or a starter template, and we'll fill in the form for you.
- Fill in the Job Post tab. This is what candidates see. It's grouped into a few sections: the basics (title, pathway, experience level), about the role (description, responsibilities, and what's required versus nice to have, where you can add headings, lists, and bold), where and how (location, remote or onsite, closing date), pay, and benefits.
- Set up the Apply Form tab. This is what candidates fill in. Choose which fields are required, optional, or hidden, and which files you'd like (most employers just ask for a resume). Want to ask something specific? Add your own questions: short answer, yes or no, multiple choice, or a file upload. You can preview the form as a candidate at any point.
- Preview, then publish. Click Review Role to see exactly what candidates will see, including your branding. When it looks right, publish. Your role goes live and starts collecting applications straight away.
A pay range is optional, but roles that show one attract more of the right applicants. When in doubt, add it.
What candidates see
When someone opens your role, they get two simple pages: your job description (with your logo, banner, mission, and values), then the application form you set up. Your brand color carries through to the Apply button, and the whole thing works on a phone.
Prefer to handle applications on your own site? Add an external application link when you set up the role, and the Apply button sends candidates to your site instead (those applications won't show up in Candidates).
After you publish
- You're live. Your role shows up in the job listings right away, where candidates can filter to find it.
- Share the link. Copy the address from your browser and send it anywhere: email, social, your careers page. Sharing brings the right people in faster.
- Track everyone in Candidates. See applicants across all your roles in one place, or open a single role for just its applicants.
- Edit anytime. Your changes go live instantly.
- Pause, close, extend, or boost it later. Take a role off the board for a bit, close it with a reason when you're done, add time to its deadline, or boost it for more visibility. Applications you've already received always stay put. See Managing your live roles.
A few things worth knowing
- It saves as you go. Close the tab whenever; your draft will be waiting.
- Every role needs a pathway. Candidates browse by pathway, so it's how they find you. Pick the one that best matches the actual work.
- Reuse past roles. Your previous posts double as templates. Pick one, change what's different, and publish.
- Fill in your company profile and branding first so candidates land on a complete, polished page instead of a stub.
