The short version
Your company shows up everywhere candidates see your roles: in the job listings, on the role page, and on the page where they apply. Set up both parts before you post your first role. There are two pages, both under Settings:
- Company profile is the words: who you are, where you're based, your climate work. Open your company profile.
- Branding is the look: your logo, your color, and an optional banner. Open Branding settings.
Your company profile
Open your company profile. It's your public-facing identity on Green Jobs Board. Here's what to fill in:
- Company name. Your exact legal or trade name. It shows on every role card.
- Company description. Two or three short paragraphs about what you do, who you serve, and your climate impact. Candidates read this, so write for someone who's never heard of you.
- Company website. Your main address. It shows on your public role page.
- Company location. Your main office or headquarters city and region. Candidates filter by location, so keep it accurate.
- Pathway. The climate area your company mostly works in (energy, conservation, construction, and so on), one of the 21 pathways. See What counts as a green job?.
- Sector. A more specific industry tag.
- BIPOC-owned. Turn this on if your company is BIPOC-owned. It shows as a badge on your role cards and powers the BIPOC Owned filter in the job listings.
- Sustainability commitments. Short bullets about how you operate: certifications, B-Corp status, public commitments.
Save when you're done. Most fields save as you go.
Your branding
Open Branding settings. This is the logo and color candidates see on the page where they apply to your roles.
On a desktop, the page is split in two: you edit on the left, and a live preview on the right updates as you go, so you always see exactly what candidates will see. A View live page button at the top opens your most recently published role in a new tab, so you can check the real thing. (It's hidden until you've published at least one role, since there's nothing to preview yet.)
Your logo
A square logo that still reads well when it's small, since it shows up everywhere from the job card to the top of your apply page.
- Formats: PNG, SVG, or JPG
- Size limit: 5 MB
- Drop your file in the upload area or browse for it. Once it's up, you can Remove logo and start over.
Your logo appears on the role card in the job listings, on the role page, and at the top of your apply page.
Your brand color
This is the accent color on your Apply button, links, and active tabs on the page where candidates apply. Pick one of the preset swatches, or paste your own color code if your brand is more specific. The live preview shows exactly how your Apply button will look.
If you pick a light color, we automatically choose readable text (white or near-black) for your buttons, so your Apply button always stays easy to read. You don't need to test combinations yourself.
Your banner (optional)
A wide image that runs across the top of your apply page and sets the tone before candidates read a word.
- Formats: PNG or JPG
- Recommended size: around 1920 by 640, or any wide shape
- Size limit: 5 MB
Skip it if you'd rather have a clean, color-block top. Your apply page looks great without one.
Saving your branding
Branding doesn't save field by field. When you make a change, an Unsaved changes bar appears at the bottom of the page. Click Save there, and the bar disappears once everything's saved.
What candidates see, and where
Once both pages are set up, here's where everything shows up:
| Where | What it uses |
|---|---|
| Role card in the job listings | Your logo, company name, location, and BIPOC badge |
| The job description page | Everything in your company profile, plus your banner and your brand color on the Apply button |
| The application form | Your brand color |
| Emails to candidates | Your company name |
First-time setup, step by step
- Fill in your company profile. Name, description, website, location, pathway, sector, BIPOC status, and sustainability commitments. Save.
- Set up your branding. Upload your logo, pick or paste your color, and add a banner if you have one. Save using the Unsaved changes bar.
- Post a role. Go to Roles and click Submit a role. Your role picks up everything you just set up.
- Check it live. Click View live page on the Branding settings, and try it on a phone too, since your apply page works on any screen.
- Tweak anytime. Branding changes show up on all your roles right away, with no need to re-publish.
A few things worth knowing
- You can edit anytime. Profile and branding changes apply to all your published roles instantly, with no re-publishing.
- Logo and banner are two different things. Your logo is the small square mark; your banner is the wide image across the top of your apply page. Using both gives you the strongest result.
- Your brand color is a single color. There's no separate light or dark version. We pick contrasting text for your buttons based on the color you set.
- One branding setup covers every role. Branding is per company, so set it once and every role carries the same look.
- Preview against a real role. View live page opens your most recent publish, so you're checking the actual page, not a mockup.
- A custom color overrides a preset. If you set a custom color and then click a preset, your custom value is replaced. Save first if you want to keep it as a baseline.
- Sustainability commitments help you get found. Candidates can't filter on them directly, but the words in your description are searchable, so be specific.
Trouble?
- Your logo won't upload. Check the size (5 MB max) and format (PNG, SVG, or JPG). See Can't upload a file.
- Your brand color isn't showing on the apply page. Save first using the Unsaved changes bar, then reload the apply page. The color applies everywhere within a few seconds.
- The View live page button is missing. You haven't published a role yet. Post one, then come back.
- The BIPOC filter isn't showing your role. Make sure the BIPOC-owned toggle is on in your company profile, and that your role is published, not still a draft.
