Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Green Jobs Board, including the Canopy employer experience. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them.

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Green Jobs Board INC, a Delaware corporation (“Green Jobs Board,” “we,” “us”). By accessing or using the platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the platform.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and of legal working age to use Green Jobs Board, and able to form a binding contract. If you use the platform on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Your account

You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure. You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@greenjobsboard.us if you suspect unauthorized use.

The platform

Green Jobs Board is a platform that connects climate-focused job seekers with employers. We provide the tools to publish roles, build profiles, submit and review applications, talk with other people on the platform, and take part in our events. We are not a party to any employment relationship, we do not employ job seekers, and we do not make hiring decisions.

Some features are in early access and are available only to some accounts. We may change, add, or remove features over time.

Job seekers

  • Provide accurate, truthful information in your profile and applications.
  • Only apply to roles you’re genuinely interested in, and only submit content you have the right to share.
  • You decide what to share with employers. Some application fields, such as voluntary self-identification, are optional, and your public profile and Discover visibility are off unless you turn them on.

Employers

  • Post only genuine, accurate roles for which you are hiring.
  • Comply with all applicable employment, anti-discrimination, and data-protection laws. You are solely responsible for your hiring decisions and your handling of applicant information.
  • Use applicant information, and anything you see in Discover, only to evaluate and contact candidates for your roles. Don’t copy it into other lists, sell it, or use it for marketing.
  • Don’t try to identify individuals from voluntary self-identification totals, and don’t use them to make hiring decisions.
  • Only add a candidate, invite a colleague, or show a teammate as a role’s hiring contact when you have the right to share that person’s details with us.
  • You’re responsible for the people you add to your team and what they do on the platform on your company’s behalf.

Messages and community spaces

You can message other people on the platform, post in community spaces, and talk with your hiring team. Be respectful, and remember that what you write can be reported. You agree not to harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone, send unwanted solicitations, or share someone else’s private information. Don’t record a video call without the consent of everyone on it.

We may review reported content and, at our discretion, remove it, turn off someone’s messaging, or suspend an account. We don’t monitor every conversation and aren’t responsible for what other people say.

Mentoring

Mentors on Green Jobs Board are volunteers who give their time to job seekers. They are not our employees or agents, and their guidance is their own personal opinion, not professional, legal, or financial advice. Mentoring is free; don’t ask for or offer payment for it.

Poppy

Poppy, our writing assistant, works only when you ask it to. What it writes may be inaccurate or incomplete, so read and edit it before you use it. You’re responsible for anything you send to an employer, including text Poppy helped write. Don’t ask Poppy to include claims about yourself that aren’t true.

Events

The Green Jobs Pavilion and our other events may have their own registration terms, codes of conduct, and waivers, which you agree to when you register or sign them. Tickets may be sold through our event provider under its own terms. If you speak or coach at an event, you let us show your name, title, company, photo, and bio on the event website and in materials promoting the event.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, unlawful, discriminatory, or harmful content.
  • Post fake roles, “ghost” jobs, or pay-to-apply schemes.
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the platform except as expressly permitted, or attempt to disrupt or breach its security.
  • Impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Create accounts in bulk or by automated means.
  • Upload malware or use the platform to send spam.

Payments and billing

Some features are paid, such as job listings, subscriptions, role packs, and add-ons like Social Boosts and listing-deadline extensions. Payments are processed by Stripe, and prices are shown before you buy. You’re responsible for applicable taxes.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period until you cancel. If you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for. If you change plans mid-period, the difference is prorated.
  • Introductory prices apply only for the period stated when you subscribe. After that, the regular price applies.
  • Refunds. You can cancel a yearly subscription within 14 days of starting it for a full refund, as long as you haven’t published a role during that time. Otherwise, unless required by law, payments are non-refundable, including single listings, add-ons, and role packs.
  • Role packs give you listing credits that expire 12 months after purchase. Unused credits aren’t refunded.
  • Price changes apply going forward. We’ll give you notice before a new price applies to your subscription.

Your content

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant Green Jobs Board a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the platform, for example showing a job posting publicly or sharing an application with the relevant employer. You’re responsible for having the rights to the content you submit.

Our intellectual property

The platform, including its software, design, and the Green Jobs Board, Canopy, Treehouse, and Poppy brands, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don’t grant you any right to use our branding without permission.

Third-party services

The platform works with third-party services, such as Google sign-in, Stripe payments, calendar and video-meeting services you choose to connect, and our event ticketing provider, and may link to third-party sites. We’re not responsible for those services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

Disclaimers

The platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” We don’t guarantee that you’ll find a job, fill a role, or receive any particular outcome, and we don’t guarantee that job postings, applicant information, content from other users, or text written by Poppy is accurate or complete. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated here.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Green Jobs Board will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or opportunities, arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 100 U.S. dollars, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Green Jobs Board harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the platform, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Termination

You can stop using the platform at any time and delete your account from your account settings. If you own a company or are on a hiring team, contact us to close your account, so we can hand over or close what depends on it first. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the platform and its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, unless applicable law provides otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
