The short version
Treehouse lives in your sidebar, between Your Jobs and Profile. Its headline is career resources for the green economy. Four things live here (Pathway Guides, Job Notes, Templates, and Mentors), and they all share the same 21 climate pathways as the job feed. If the job feed answers "what's open right now?", Treehouse answers "what do I want to do, and how do I get there?" Not sure where you fit yet? Start with the Find your Treehouse quiz on the hub. What you'll find
Pathway Guides
Pick any of the 21 climate pathways for an in-depth guide: what the work looks like day to day, the roles inside it, the skills that matter, and the kinds of companies hiring. The hub shows the full grid of pathways, with a Find a mentor button that jumps straight to the Mentors directory. Open any pathway guide to dig in.
Job Notes
Career advice from climate professionals. The hub shows a row you can scroll through, with color-coded filters on top, one per category:
- Building Paths (how people built their climate careers)
- Write Your Story (telling your story on resumes and in interviews)
- Prep Talk (interview prep)
- Skill Building (the skills that matter, and how to grow them)
- The Search (running your job search day to day)
- Growth Mindset (keeping yourself going through the long stretches)
Click View all to browse every Job Note, or open a single advice article directly. When you filter, the choice stays in the web address, so you can share or bookmark a filtered view.
Templates
Copy-ready starters you edit to sound like you. There are eight kinds, each with its own color-coded filter on the hub:
- Cover Letter
- Outreach (cold and warm intros)
- Info Interview (asking for one and running it)
- Thank You (after an interview)
- Follow-up (when you haven't heard back)
- STAR (interview answers, structured as Situation, Task, Action, Result)
- Why Climate (your "why" for applications and conversations)
- Withdrawal (bowing out of a process cleanly)
Click a template, pick the role you're working on, and it opens already filled in for that context (role title, company, and anything else we know). Browse them all under Templates in Treehouse. Here too, your filter choice stays in the web address.
Mentors
A directory of climate-career mentors. Search by name or filter by pathway. Each profile shows the mentor's background, the pathway they work in, and what they're happy to talk about. You'll see up to 50 mentors per page. Browse the Mentors directory and open any mentor's profile to learn more.
How to use Treehouse
- Start where you are. New to climate? Pathway Guides. Stuck mid-search? Mentors. Need to send an email today? Templates. Want a longer read? Job Notes.
- Use the filters on the hub. Each one is a single click. Tap a filter to narrow the row, and tap the same one again to clear it.
- Move around freely. Treehouse isn't a sequence. A mentor might point you to a pathway you didn't know about, and a pathway guide might link to a Job Note that names your next step.
- Bookmark the pages you like. Pathway guides, individual notes, individual templates, and mentor profiles all have stable web addresses.
Becoming a mentor
If you'd like to mentor other climate job seekers, set up your mentor profile in Mentor settings.
- Turn Mentor mode on.
- Pick the pathways you can speak to.
- Write a short bio about what you do and what you're happy to talk about.
- Save. You'll show up in the Mentors directory once your profile is live.
You stay in control of when you're available. You can turn Mentor mode off whenever you like, and your profile drops out of the directory while your bio stays saved for next time.

Good to know
- Treehouse is for signed-in members. Reach it from the Treehouse item in your sidebar or open Treehouse directly. There's a separate public article archive on our marketing site, but the in-portal hub is the full experience.
- Pathways tie it together. These are the same 21 pathways as the rest of Green Jobs Board, so you can filter mentors by pathway, read a pathway's guide, and find Job Notes tagged to it.
- Mentors give their time. Come with a specific question or a bit of context. A short, focused chat respects everyone's calendar.
- Templates open with your role in mind. When you click one, you'll pick the role you're working on, and it fills in for that specific application (role title, company, and anything else we know).
- Filtered views are shareable. For Job Notes and Templates, your filter choice stays in the web address, so you can share the view and the back button still works.
- Mentor profiles stay inside Green Jobs Board. They're shown only to signed-in job seekers in the Mentors directory.
