Account and troubleshooting

Email not arriving

If an email from us is missing (a reset link, an email-change confirmation, or an application update), the fix is almost always spam, adding us to your contacts, or waiting a few minutes.

The short version

Check spam first. Then add no-reply@greenjobsboard.us to your contacts. Then wait five minutes and try again. Most missing-email reports clear up at one of those three steps. If you're waiting on an email-change confirmation, that link expires quickly, so if it's been more than 24 hours, request a fresh one.

The emails we send

We send a handful of email types. If one isn't showing up, knowing which kind you're waiting on helps narrow things down.

Email type When you'd get it Sender
Password reset link You clicked Forgot Password no-reply@greenjobsboard.us
Email-change confirmation You asked to change your email (job seekers from change your email, employers from change your email), sent to your new address no-reply@greenjobsboard.us
Application submitted You submitted an application to a role no-reply@greenjobsboard.us
Application status update An employer moved your application forward (interview, offer, and so on) no-reply@greenjobsboard.us
Notification digest Sent periodically, based on your notification preferences no-reply@greenjobsboard.us
New role match A new role posted that matches your saved searches or pathway no-reply@greenjobsboard.us

Job seekers can choose which of these arrive in their Notification settings. Employers can do the same in their Notification settings.

Troubleshooting, step by step

  1. Wait 5 minutes. Email isn't instant. Most reset and confirmation emails arrive within seconds, but sometimes there's a delay of a few minutes.
  2. Check spam and junk. Reset and confirmation emails can land there the first time you hear from a new sender.
  3. Search your inbox for greenjobsboard.us. Some email apps sort our emails into other folders, like Promotions, All Mail, or a custom rule.
  4. Mark no-reply@greenjobsboard.us as "not spam" so future emails land in your inbox.
  5. Add the sender to your contacts. This is the most reliable way to keep future emails out of spam.
  6. Make sure you're using the right email. This matters especially if you signed up with Google, since your account email is your Google email, which might not be the one you check every day.
  7. Ask for the email again. Request it from the Forgot Password page (for reset emails) or the relevant settings page (for an email-change confirmation). Two requests close together can cancel the earlier link, so wait five minutes between tries.

If none of that works, reach out to support so the team can check on the delivery.

When you can't fix it yourself

  • The reset email never arrives, even after troubleshooting. Your email provider may be turning our emails away. Reach out to support and they can confirm whether the email was sent and accepted.
  • The email-change link expired. Email-change confirmation links are short-lived. If yours has expired by the time you click it, request a new one from your change-email page (job seekers or employers).
  • You signed up with Google. Google accounts don't have a password, so no reset email is sent. Just sign in with Google. See Resetting your password.
  • You've lost access to the email entirely. Reach out to support directly, and the team can verify your identity another way.

Good to know

  • You don't need to confirm your email to start. You can use your account right after you create your account, because we don't lock the app behind a confirm-your-email click. So if a welcome or verify email is missing, it isn't blocking you.
  • All our emails come from greenjobsboard.us. Every notification and account email comes from this sender. If your workplace lets you, allow the whole domain.
  • Application emails go to your account email. If you applied with a different email than your account email, the confirmation still goes to your account email.
  • Employer notification emails are per person. Each teammate at a company manages their own notification preferences.
  • Your notification preferences come first. If you turned off "application updates" in your settings, you won't get status-change emails from employers. Turn them back on from the settings link above.
  • Asking for a reset link too quickly cancels the earlier one. Wait five minutes between requests.
