Aura Vasquez is Senior Director of Campaigns & Advocacy at Hip Hop Caucus, where she leads Think 100%, the organization's climate and environmental justice platform. An Afro-Latina immigrant from Colombia, Aura has spent over 20 years at the forefront of the climate movement — helping push Los Angeles toward a coal-free future with the Sierra Club's Beyond Coal campaign, standing with the Standing Rock Sioux, and serving as the first immigrant Commissioner on the LA Department of Water and Power. She has also led private-sector work in renewable energy and regulatory relations, and is a member of the California Global Biodiversity Alliance. Today, she builds power for frontline communities at the intersection of climate, culture, and civic engagement — proof that the movement for a livable planet has always run through intersectional leadership.
