Founder, The Trash Walker
Anna Sacks, known as The Trash Walker to more than half a million followers, is a waste expert and coalition builder working to transform how New York City approaches waste. She is the former legislative chair of the Manhattan Solid Waste Advisory Board, co-founder of the #SaveOurCompost coalition, and currently advancing an Office of Circularity for New York City, dedicated entirely to waste reduction and diversion. Anna has appeared on television programs in Japan, South Korea, France, Austria, Germany, Canada, and the United States, including in Netflix’s Emmy-winning documentary Buy Now: The Shopping Conspiracy. She has been recognized as a Jewish Week 36 Under 36 changemaker, named a Climate Creator to Watch by Pique Action and Harvard Chan C-CHANGE, and selected as a finalist for the David Prize.
