Moms Clean Air Force (Moms) is a community of over 1.6 million moms, dads, and caretakers working together to combat air pollution, including the urgent crisis of our changing climate. We arm members with reliable information and solutions through online resources, articles, action tools, and on-the-ground organizing.
We are seeking a highly motivated part-time Field Events Consultant responsible for coordinating national and field activities to increase the visibility and effectiveness of Moms Clean Air Force with an emphasis on our work in key states across the country.
This part-time contract position’s responsibilities will include:
- Support the planning and execution of virtual and in-person events, webinars, press conferences, and community activities.
- Coordinate event logistics, materials preparation, vendor management and day-of-event support.
- Assist staff, volunteers, field organizers and speakers with event preparation including speaker communications, prep calls, presentations, and run-of-show development.
- Promote events and campaigns on social media channels by creating promotional materials and assisting with event-related communications.
- Create, edit, and post digital content including graphics, photos, and short videos for social media and serve as on camera talent as needed.
- Attend congressional hearings, press conferences, and other DC-based events as needed.
- Recruit, engage, and mobilize volunteers and advocates to participate in campaigns, public events, media opportunities, and other advocacy activities as needed.
- Provide coordination and support for special projects, events, campaigns, and administrative needs.
- Foster meaningful engagement with diverse communities and advocate for climate justice and equity in Black, Latino, Asian, Indigenous, and other historically underserved communities.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree with experience in advocacy work preferred or a Bachelor’s degree with a passion for politics, advocacy, and digital media.
- Strong commitment to protect children’s health from air pollution, toxic chemicals, and climate change through organizing, advocacy, and partnerships.
- Solid understanding of federal environmental policy and advocacy landscape.
- Experience using digital advocacy tools and managing content on social media platforms, including but not limited to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Ability to film, edit, and produce short-form video content for social media; familiarity with tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar preferred.
- Proficient in broadcasting in-person and digital events on social media platforms; experience with Zoom, Teams, and StreamYard preferred.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with team members, volunteers, partners, and government officials.
- Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work across diverse communities with cultural competency, inclusivity, and respect.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Must reside in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area and have access to reliable transportation.
Compensation:
$5,400 per month plus expenses
