The Marion Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is seeking a dependable, collaborative and enthusiast individual to join our team as our Urban Conservationist.

Position Highlights

  • Provide technical guidance to homeowners, residents, and community partners on sustainable land practices through on-site consultations, workshops, and community events.
  • Lead the design and implementation of innovative urban conservation projects like green spaces, habitat enhancements, and stormwater solutions.
  • Inspire community members to actively participate in habitat enhancement, water quality protection, and sustainable land management practices.
  • Collaborate with partners to expand habitat connectivity and bridge urban-rural conservation goals.
  • Lead outreach events, tours, and educational activities that connect residents to local conservation efforts.
  • Support District programs through strategic planning, community grants, and resource development.
