Job Description

Job Summary
The Senior Government Affairs Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the advocacy
and coalition efforts for the Next 100 policy platform.

Principle Responsibilities
● Lead an advocacy portfolio that educates, equips, and mobilizes members and partners
of the Next 100 Coalition.
● Plan advocacy and educational events (such as webinars, congressional briefings, hill
meetings, etc) to advance Next 100’s advocacy priorities.
● Lead in coalition building strategies at the national and regional/state levels and maintain
and build key relationships with network partners, agencies, and decision makers.
● Communications and media: work alongside staff to develop news releases, statements,
columns, articles, posts, newsletters, briefs, and social media content, among other
materials.
● Effectively monitor and present policy issues to the Next 100 team, board members, and
relevant partners.
● Support the tracking of deliverables for grants and board of directors reports.
● Support the preparation of written materials and presentations relative to advocacy
issues and network engagement.
● Represent Next 100 before federal agencies, network partners, funders, legislative or
other decision makers or entities as appropriate.
● Liaise with partners to unify messaging and organize across advocacy priorities and
other coalitions and networks.
● Collaborate with internal teams to develop, coordinate, and implement advocacy
campaigns.
● Administrative duties as they relate to role responsibilities and team collaboration
● Related program and advocacy responsibilities as they arise
